Alexius Yorkshire was born around 1805 and was enslaved at St. Inigoes plantation in Maryland. Although he was sold to Henry Johnson in 1838, Alexius remained in Maryland and was sold again to Iland Dorsey in 1844. He died after 1876, between 52 and 74 years old.
